Harry Redknapp may be the nicest man in the I’m A Celebrity camp – but he’s come from proper East End roots, with his own grandmother dabbling in illegal activities.
The football manager’s nan used to run her own criminal network back when he was a child – running bets on the horses and collecting the cash from the women in her neighbourhood.
Harry himself has opened up about his nan’s gambling ring – which would have been illegal when he was a child because off-course bookmakers weren’t legalised until 1960.

Speaking to his I’m A Celeb campmates, Harry revealed the tidbit while telling one of his famous stories, this time about when he failed to recognise Princess Beatrice.
"I sit down facing this young girl, so we start chatting away," he recalled around the campfire. "We get onto horse racing and she said, ‘Do you like horse racing, Harry?’
"And I said, ‘Oh, I love it. I was brought up with it, my nan was a street bookmaker. When I was a kid she used to take bets from all the old girls in our street…’

"And I’m telling this girl the story and she’s laughing and said, ‘My grandmother loves racing. She loves it! Last year when she won the gold cup at Ascot…
"And I thought, ‘her nan must have a few quid!’ And she told me the horse and I thought, ‘doesn’t the Queen own that horse?’
"When I went out, Jamie [Redknapp, his son] said, ‘You never had a clue who she was, did you?’
"And I said, ‘Not a clue!’"

Harry also revealed his nan is to blame for his sweet tooth.
He was gutted when the camp missed out on a big serving of jam roly-poly when they got a Kiosk Kev question wrong last week – but he was over the moon days later when the dessert showed up on the table with a generous helping of custard.
"My old nan used to make it, it was a taste of my childhood really," he later explained his love for the sugary pudding.
"It brings back good memories, you know?"
