Sir Elton John was forced to cancel his show in Florida on Tuesday night due to an ear infection – but concertgoers were only told 20 minutes after he was meant to be on stage.
The Grammy-winning singer, 71, was due to appear at the Amway Center in Orlando as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which kicked off in September.
Fans who had already taken their seats at the venue tweeted their disappointment after learning the star wouldn’t be appearing.
One shared: "Well they just announced that the @eltonofficial concert has been canceled due to him having an ear infection. That sucks but hope he gets better soon. Concert will be rescheduled @AmwayCenter at a later date. I have never had that happen at a show before."

A second said the announcement came 22 minutes after the show was actually scheduled to start.
"Uhhh…at @AmwayCenter and they just announced Elton John isn’t playing because of an ear infection. Show was scheduled for 8. Announcement came at 8:22."
Another fan tweeted: "Goodbye to you Sir Elton John! #screwedyourfans."
The Amway Center later said the tour date would be rescheduled.
"We’re sorry to announce that due to an ear infection, Elton John is unable to perform tonight. The rescheduled Orlando date will be announced in the near future so please hold onto your tickets."
The singer announced his final tour at the beginning of the year after spending nearly 50 years on the road.
The Farewell Yellow Brick Road world tour – named after his seventh studio album in 1973 – will continue into 2021, when Elton will finally hang up his wing-tip shirts at the age of 73.

"I’ve been touring since the age of 17. I’m not going to travel anymore," he announced at the time.
"I’ve been working constantly, I’ve been on the road constantly since 1970. I don’t always play big cities, I like the smaller towns. I’m not in ill health – you couldn’t do 300 performances if you were ill."
Elton revealed the reason behind his decision was his two sons, who he has with husband David Furnish.
The announcement came almost 30 minutes after he was due on stage
"Once your life changes and you have the children, it changes your life so much – I love them so much. We’re going to take them out for nine months and get them a tutor. I don’t want to miss them and I don’t want them to miss me."
"I want to go out with a bang, not with a whimper – I want to leave people thinking, ‘I saw his last tour and it was amazing’."
