Anne Hegerty shocked her I’m A Celebrity campmates when she revealed she had a secret husband called Jake Hester .
But the Chase star let on that there was actually no Mr Hegerty – and that internet pranksters had edited her Wikipedia page to give her a fake spouse.
The 60-year-old TV personality, who plays the strict Governess on ITV’s The Chase, has actually never been in a long-term relationship, despite being a household favourite and having hundreds of thousands of fans.

Anne struggles with dating, her friend has said
Now her friend and agent David Hahn has revealed just why Anne has been unlucky in love – and how her autism diagnosis has impacted on her dating life.
"Anne doesn’t pick up on the signals," he told Closer magazine.
"If someone winked at her or flirted with her, she wouldn’t register that because of her Asperger’s. I think she’d really struggle with dating because of that. But she has a fantastic group of friends and I know she’ll form great friendships in the jungle."
David also cast light on why Anne struggles with the unpredictable nature of the jungle, especially when she’s not given any warning about what will happen next.

Anne’s autism means she struggles to register flirting
"Anne’s Asperger’s means she likes things planned out. She likes to know what she has in her diary minute-by-minute for the next few months. If you tell her a meeting has been moved or a car is picking her up at a slightly different time, it really throws her and she gets flustered."
But, he added, she’s been pushing herself out of her comfort zone and showing viewers the real her.
"She’s warm and friendly and far removed from The Governess – which is just a character," he pointed out. "I think this show will be life-changing for her."
Anne herself has spoken to her campmates about being diagnosed with Asperger’s in her mid-40s, after struggling her whole life with feeling different.

Anne can get flustered when plans change without any warning
And she realised that her autism has hindered her in finding love .
"When I was working out that I was autistic it clarified a lot of things for me and one of those things was, ‘that’s why I never seem to be able to make it work’," she told her fellow celebrities last week/
"That’s why I always feel claustrophobic in a relationship. That’s why I kind of think that’s probably not intended for me."
