Ant McPartlin wrote movingly about his emotional wedding day to ex-wife Lisa Armstrong as part of his and Declan Donnelly’s best-selling autobiography in 2009 – eight years before their tragic split in late 2017.
Love-struck Ant had met and fallen for Deuce star Lisa 11 years before their fairytale wedding, which took place at St Nicolas Church in Taplow, Berkshire, on July 22 2006.
Writing in their memoirs Ooh! What A Lovely Pair: Our Story, Ant opened up about "the happiest day" of his life.
"Lisa looked beautiful. She was wearing an incredible ivory satin dress with a lace bolero jacket and a tiara. She looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle," he recalled three years after the big day.

"As well as being the happiest day of my life, it was also the hottest day of my life – it was like getting married in Louisiana. As Lisa approached, I realised I was pouring with sweat: it was literally running down my face. Fortunately, she grabbed a hanky from her dad, who was walking her up the aisle, and when she arrived at the altar, passed it to me."
He went on: "I can still see that hanky now; it was embroidered with a picture of one of my favourite men in the world, someone who has been an inspiration to me for years – Homer Simpson. I gratefully mopped my brow, but didn’t notice that the embroidery on the hanky had left scratches all over my face. I looked like I’d been dragged through a bramble bush. Luckily, the scratch marks had disappeared by the time we got our photos taken."

Lisa was also instrumental in making Dec Ant’s best man – as Ant had accidentally forgotten to ask him.
Dec wrote in the same autobiography: "A month or two after the engagement, I was round at Ant’s one day and he made a joke about something to do with the wedding, then he said, ‘Well, you’d better know that you’re my best man.’
"’Am I?’ I replied, then Lisa pitched in with, ‘Well have you actually asked him?’, to which Ant said, ‘No I just assumed… so, will you? Be my best man?’ and of course I said yes.

"It was never one of those dramatic, blood-brothers moments, although we did go round the corner for a pint to celebrate," Dec added.
Ant and Lisa were together for over two decades before Ant ended their marriage late last year.
He went public with their split in January – and just six months later, news of his relationship with Anne-Marie Corbett went public.
Lisa made no secret of her heartbreak, tweeting a string of messages about the betrayal and claiming Ant hadn’t even given her the heads up that he’d moved on with their ex-PA – and Lisa’s own friend.

Their divorce case was heard before the High Court earlier this month, with the judge criticising Ant for not appearing in court for a hearing about the public details of their finances.
Instead, he was spotted walking his beloved dog Hurley in the park, as Lisa turned up in court with her legal team.
