Joe Swash has been rushed to hospital after filming Sunday night’s I’m A Celebrity: Extra Camp.
The former EastEnders star and presenter of the jungle show was rushed to the nearest emergency department in Australia for medical treatment after a cockroach lodged itself inside his ear.
But after a long wait, the doctors told him they didn’t have the right equipment to get the critter out – meaning it’s got to stay inside his ear canal for another DAY.
Joe himself seemed a little bugged out by his unexpected visitor, taking to Instagram to update his followers on the gross situation.

"So just on the way to hospital to get a cockroach sucked out of my ear. All the perks of this job, eh?" he told the camera.
A little later, he added; "Just walking up to the hospital. Still can’t believe I’ve got an animal living in me earhole. Don’t make yourself at home, son – you’re coming out."
Poor Joe had to wait inside the emergency department for hours, sanguinely telling fans: "Some things never change, do they? Still in the hospital, still waiting. We actually thought it would be quicker [out here]. It’s not."

He later revealed the insect had burrowed itself so far into his ear that it couldn’t be reached without a certain tool – and the doctor responsible for using it wasn’t in.
"Just got out the hospital, doctors said they can’t get the cockroach out of my ear," Joe said.
"I’ve got to see a specialist tomorrow so they can use some special equipment on it. Which means this little cockroach has had another free board in my ear.
"He owes me a lot of rent," he joked.
It’s not the first time the cast and crew of I’m A Celebrity have had to deal with bugs getting into various orifices.
In 2016 Sam Quek had to call for medics after a roach crawled into her ear during a Bushtucker trial, while another critter lodged itself up Fatima Whitbread’s nose in 2011.
