Cheryl shows off glamorous makeover as she promotes new reality TV show

Cheryl and Alesha Dixon positively sizzle in a glamorous new photoshoot publicising BBC One’s new Saturday night talent show, The Greatest Dancer .

Former X-factor judge Cheryl will be one of the dance captains in the primetime programme, win which dancers from the worlds of ballet, jazz, hip hop, Bollywood and beyond compete in a bid to be named the greatest dancer of the series.

Cheryl will be joined by fellow dance captains Glee star Matthew Morrison and Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse.

Dixon, who won Strictly in 2007 and went on to be a judge on the show from 2009 until 2011, will present the series alongside Diversity dancer Jordan Banjo.

Cheryl was a judge on The X Factor in 2008, mentoring two winners (Alexandra Burke in series 5 and Joe McElderry in series 6), before resigning in 2011 and joining the panel of the US version. She returned to judge series 11 and 12 of the UK version.

Each of the stars has posed for colourful, stylised portraits with an innovative ‘hall of mirrors’ effect ahead of the series airing in 2019.

The series is a co-production between Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and Thames and will feature a host of talent from across the world of dance as they give the performances of their lives.

Alesha was a judge on the seventh series of Strictly Come Dancing, replacing Arlene Phillips

The captains will be tasked with whittling down the acts that get through the audition stage before picking who they want to mentor and take through to the live shows.

Hinting at the format, Cheryl said: "The great thing about The Greatest Dancer is that we put the power into the audience’s hands."

Although comparisons have already been drawn with 2010 BBC One show, So You Think You Can Dance , Morrison insists that The Greatest Dancer is "unlike any other show out there."

Morrison is known for starring in numerous Broadway productions, including his portrayal of Link Larkin in Hairspray, and for his role as Will Schuester on the TV show Glee

Mabuse said she is "looking for something that is really extraordinary, something that’s going to represent the genre that it’s from, and get everybody excited."

The Strictly pro said that she was looking forward to finding a dancer who can elicit emotion from the audience.

"I know how it feels to be on the other side and to be judged and critiqued for your dance or choreography," she said.
