Cheryl rocked by West End rejection as Caroline Flack ‘beats her to top role’

There have probably been better weeks in the career of pop singer Cheryl Tweedy as she has been hit with a gutting blow after the flop of her comeback single .

The former Girls Aloud singer was hoping that Love Made Me Do It would propel her back to the top of the charts but listeners were not so bothered .

Following this, she was roundly slated for an ‘x-rated performance’ , when she returned for a performance on X Factor, on which she used to be a judge.

Now, it seems, her dream of being a West End musical star has also crashed and burned after she was overlooked for a role in favour of Love Island host, Caroline Flack.

Unfortunately, Strictly Come Dancing winner Caroline Flack had all the right moves and, according to The Sun , none of the ‘diva requests’ that the Geordie singer brought to the table.

It will be 39-year-old Caroline Flack’s first leading role on London’s West End and it is a huge blow for 35-year-old Cheryl, who is looking to move on from a disastrous couple of weeks.

For now it is back to the drawing board for Cheryl as Caroline looks to take to the boards, as she expected to sign up for the show in the coming days.

Cheryl and Caroline have been contacted by Mirror Online for comment.
