I’m A Celebrity: Truth about Nick Knowles and Biffy Clyro FINALLY revealed after band’s denial

Nick Knowles’ casual boast that he’d jammed with Biffy Cylro has been one of the biggest surprises of I’m A Celeb so far.

Not least for the band themselves.

In a chat around the camp fire, Nick claimed that he’d joined the Scottish rockers for a session on a Soho rooftop, but the band later spoke out to say he’d been telling his campmates a few porkie pies.

But the unlikely row just took another turn, with a inside source stepping forward to back up Nick’s version of the story.

The CEO of the hotel Nick claimed he’d joined the band at has revealed the stars did in fact spend all night jamming out and supping champagne.

Explaining what really went down, Mark Fuller said: "They got the guitar out and jammed on the roof ’til the early hours.

"Nick is a really great friend of mine, and always up for a party," he told The Sun Online.

While an insider added: "No idea why Biffy Clyro are being so coy about it – they were up all night jamming with Nick.

"Everyone was buying champagne and getting tipsy. I think one guest ended up in the jacuzzi on the roof at one point!"

Nick made a huge impression on his I’m A Celeb co-stars when he told them about his night rocking out with the band.

Entertaining them round the camp fire, he said: "I’ve played with Biffy Clyro, they’re the nicest lads out there. I’d sit and play with them on the roof of my pal’s hotel in London.

"They are fantastic and Scotland should be really proud of them for two reasons.

"One is that they are an international mega act and the other thing is that they got really good by playing in bars and clubs for years."

The TV star said the impromptu performance even led to him being offered a recording contract.

But days later drummer Ben Johnston piped up to mock Nick’s claims.

He claimed the DIY star was ‘playing loose with the truth’ and he’d only bought them some champagne eight years ago.

Ben said on the Radio 1 Breakfast show: "We came back to this hotel in Soho and we’d been informed that Nick Knowles had bought us a bottle of champagne to celebrate on the roof! He was lovely, we had a drink and we left and there might have been a guitar there.

“He was a nice guy! I’m not gonna say anything bad about him, Mr Nick Knowles, he was lovely."
