Rita Ora caught up in lip-syncing row but John Legend rushes to her defence

Rita Ora has been widely slammed by fans who accused her of miming along to her hits as she performed at the Macy’s Day Parade.

The Anywhere singer took to the stage as part of the annual Thanksgiving celebrations, but some eagle eyed viewers claimed to spot Rita lip-syncing to new single Let You Love Me.

"I swear Rita Ora coming in 30 second late and miming to nothing is gonna be the highlight of today," tweeted one reveller.

"Rita Ora just performed one of the funniest, most out-of-sync miming I’ve ever seen," said another.

While a third claimed she was ‘miming a completely different song than the track playing.

As the criticism of Rita’s performance mounted, singer John Legend, who was also on the bill, rushed to her defence.

He told his followers 12 million Twitter followers : "Fun fact. We all have to lip sync on this parade because the floats don’t have the capacity to handle the sound requirements for a live performance. Hope y’all enjoyed it anyway. Know that if you come to my shows, the vocals are 100% live!"

Rita appeared to be very grateful for his support as she replied: "Thank you for clarifying what I was about to also tweet. It’s annoying for us but anyway! All my shows are 100 percent live always have been! When you come to a ORA show get ready! Back to holidays! Have a good one guys! 🙂 X"
