The Chase Mark Labbett has opened up about the reason Anne Hegerty decided to take part in I’m A Celebrity – revealing that HE had persuaded her to take part.
Mark, dubbed ‘The Beast’ on the ITV quiz show, also admitted that he felt very guilty about voting her to do the bushtucker trial and had thought it would have been something logical she could do.
Appearing on Loose Women today, he was asked about whether he would do I’m A Celeb himself.
"If I get enough calories and the fee’s big enough," he said before saying the he was jealous that she was taking part.

Mark then admitted that he had a ‘confession’ to make: "I kind of talked her into it… and I feel guilty that I voted for her."
He opened up fondly about Anne, saying: "She’s the best godmother you can have… the nice thing about Anne is that she doesn’t have that filter [and] you’re seeing the real her."

He added that he thinks that she could win the show, saying: "I think she’ll go a long way."
Opening up about her Asperger’s, which she herself spoke openly about when asked, he said: "She does really badly when she’s surprised – she plans everything… you notice on I’m A Celebrity anything that comes out of the ordinary she doesn’t react well with that."
This comes after her frank conversation with Rita Simons about her autism was praised by viewers earlier this week.
"When you’ve grown up always knowing that there’s something that seemed to be different about you from most people – and not being able to understand until my mid-forties that what we were talking about here was autism – I’ve had to learn an awful let about myself and what I can and can’t do and what I can or can’t cope with," she said.

"At the moment I’m quietly panicked."
Anne also revealed ahead of the show that ITV bosses have told her to warn them if she needs support.
She struggles with ‘faceblindness’ – a condition that makes it harder for her to identify people she’s met – and doesn’t let others into her home because it’s so cluttered.
"People always say to me, ‘Where do you keep your autism?” and I always say, ”It’s it’s behind my front door and you’re not coming in.’"
