Noel Edmonds says his former sidekick Mr Blobby is now a washed up alcoholic struggling to make ends meet in Marbella.
The Pink and yellow-spotted character featured on Noel’ Saturday night variety BBC television show Noel’s House Party from 1992 until the end of the decade.
In 2012 he made a guest appearance in the September episode of The Big Fat Quiz of the Year "The Big Fat Quiz of the ’90s".
But Noel, who is in Australia to take part in I’m A Celebrity, insists the comedy character is now in a bad way.
Asked what Blobby would think of him going in the jungle, he said: “Well the story of Mr Blobby is a sad story because the fame got to him.
"You know the story? Oh my god. After the whole American experience and whatever, he got a bar in Marbella and Mrs Blobby left with the kids and he drank the profits frankly.

"It was never gonna work when you think of the climate in Marbella it was never going to work, that smell of rubber was putting people off, so he is a shadow of his former self.”
Asked is he could you see himself on screen together with Blobby again, Noel replied: “Hopefully not.”
Noel also said he plans to end his TV career with I’m A Celebrity.
He will enter the ITV show this week and says if he is King of the jungle he will retire from television on the spot
Noel said: “That’s a deal I’m prepared to do with the British public, if they do vote me King of the jungle I will never appear on television again.

"50 years is long enough – give us a break for Christ’s sake, we’ve got enough problems with Brexit, Nexit? Now I’d be very happy to do that deal, but it’s on terms that I win the bloody thing.
“I’ve had a fantastic relationship with the British public, I may be Marmite, but there’s a hell of a lot of people that seem to like Noel’s version of Marmite.”
