Noel Edmonds hatched a plan to “fix” a way he could win Strictly Come Dancing, he has revealed.
The 69-year-old is entering the jungle to appear on I’m A Celebrity this week as a late entry, but before that he was lining up a stint on BBC show Strictly.
And he came up with a plan to win the show with the help of his wife Liz.
He said: “I have been asked to do Strictly, Liz is a fully trained singer and dancer and a couple of years ago she said, ‘Why don’t we cheat? Why don’t we say you’re a novice and I’ll teach you before.”
But the plan failed according to Noel when Liz realised just how much time he would spend with a female dancer, and the fact he would need a lot of teaching.

He added: “Then I think there was one of those curse moments and I did say to her, ‘Are you comfortable with me spending five or six days with a half naked woman draped all over me?’ And it’s funny how the conversation just changed.
“We’ve got something very very special. I would be a cross between Anne Widdecombe and John Seargent. It’s all going on, In my head I’m Fred Astaire.
"I like the programme , I always watch it with Liz because she is so into it.

"I a Fred Astaire but there is no connection. I just don’t know why, nothing works, it’s hopeless so I’d never do it.”
Fellow I’m A Celebrity star Harry Redknapp told last week how he was offered Strictly this year and a professional dancer from the show even came to his house before he turned it down in favour of I’m A Celebrity.
