I’m A Celebrity star Fleur East shocked some viewers on Monday night by eating meat despite reportedly being vegan.
The X Factor singer received a strong backlash after she was spotted tucking into a wallaby wing just a few days into her jungle experience.
However, Fleur told Mirror Online in Australia that she was actually only vegan for a year and now enjoys an "80% plant based" diet.
Speaking before she entered the jungle, Fleur said: "I was vegan for a year and then I went to Senegal in July and they didn’t understand what vegan was so I was forced to break it.
"I’ve become a bit more flexible, so I would say now I’m 80% plant based."

Baffled I’m A Celebrity viewers took to Twitter after watching Fleur chomping on some meat.
One viewer said: "Wtf though fleur was vegan? Why’s she eating f***ing wallaby what an absolute let down"
"Was under the impression that Fleur east was a vegan, yet I’ve just watched her chew her way through a wallaby wing," added another.
A third asked: "I thought Fleur was a vegan ? Confused!"
Using Fleur’s Twitter account, a spokesperson for the singer explained that she will not be following a vegan diet in the jungle.
They tweeted: "Thank you all for your support on # ImACeleb. Just to address, Fleur is not a vegan. For health reasons she has in the past followed a vegan diet, but she is not adhering to this in the jungle. She has always eaten meat throughout her life."
There were fears that the reported three vegans in camp would be excluded from the infamous eating trials.
Speaking on Loose Women, furious Denise Welsch said she thought they shouldn’t take part if they weren’t willing to do the task.
Denise said: "Vegans won’t have to do eating trials on ‘medical grounds’ and I think that’s very unfair."
James did not eat any meat and stuck to the vegetables
But a representative for Sair explained that the Coronation Street star is not vegan or vegetarian.
They tweeted: "Oh, and by the way – Sair isn’t vegetarian or vegan. We’ve no idea where that came from"
While James McVey’s pals confirmed that he is a vegetarian and did not eay any of the wallaby.
Using his official Twitter account, they tweeted: "Hey guys. James is vegetarian and he didn’t eat any wallaby tonight, just the veggies that came with the meals they were given"
