McDonald’s reveals ‘Reindeer Ready’ Christmas advert – and people think it’s ‘better’ than John Lewis one

When it comes to Christmas adverts, John Lewis normally takes the crown.

But this year viewers were left feeling "underwhelmed" after watching their Elton John advert, which is intended to sell more than just gifts.

The banned Iceland advert has proved very popular online and the Sansbury’s ad also got a lot of love for one hilarious moment in particular.

However there’s one advert that has risen straight to the top in the battle for the best Christmas advert of 2018 – and that’s the offering from McDonald’s.

The fast food chain have just released their heartwarming advert, which comes with the hashtag #ReindeerReady.

The 90 second ad, which was created by Leo Burnett London, features Santa and all his reindeer as they deliver presents to children on Christmas Eve.

Rudolph, Dasher, Blitzen and co eagerly await Santa’s return from each house, hoping the family will have left some treats out for them to enjoy.

But as Santa munches on more and more mince pies, the reindeer are forced to go without – and they look pretty disappointed about this.

"Omg the Christmas advert for McDonald’s and the reindeers – my favourite Christmas advert this year," wrote a third.

Someone else cut right to the point and told Lewis they needed to up their game: "Dear John Lewis, the McDonald’s advert just made me cry… McDonald’s. That’s how s*** your advert is this year. That is all."

A different user added: "I’ve just seen the McDonald’s ad. Utterly brilliant! Really festive and very sweet. Unlike John Lewis’s pretentious nonsense. What a letdown this year. They really seem to have lost the plot as well as my custom."
