Amanda Holden’s changing face: How BGT star looks so young at 47

Amanda Holden has refused to let her advancing years tone down her sexy persona and revealing ensembles.

Few would disagree that the actress is looking better now at 47 than she did in her twenties when she was married to first husband Les Dennis.

The former Cutting It star is renowned for her headline-grabbing outfits on Britain’s Got Talent , including one particularly risque boob-baring number in 2017 which prompted a storm of Ofcom complaints.

While Amanda continues to look youthful as she creeps close to 50, it has prompted much speculation about if she has gone under the knife.

Mirror Online takes a closer look at Amanda’s sensational looks and how she maintains her age-defying beauty.

Her changing relationship with Botox

Amanda has openly spoken about the wrinkle-freezing injections over the years, admitting she first had Botox after she started developing crow’s feet while filming Wild At Heart in South Africa.

She said in 2008: "Yes, I have had Botox… I was constantly frowning in the sun. I noticed crow’s feet coming and that’s when I had it."

However, she admitted she quit having Botox injections after spending time in intensive care following the birth of her daughter Hollie in January 2012.

She said four years ago: "Everybody knows that in the past, yes, I’ve talked about having Botox.

"I’ve not gone under the knife or had any injections. Since spending too much time in intensive care after nearly losing a baby, I’ve not gone under the knife or had any injections."

Despite admitting to quitting the injections, her fellow BGT judge Simon Cowell accused her of using Botox live on TV last year.

Critiquing a young magician, Simon said: "I liked the beginning of the trick when you suddenly become younger. You use magic…"

Then turning to Amanda, he said: "You use Botox."

Amanda was so incensed, she picked up her glass of water to throw at him, but he managed to wrestle it off her.

Secrets to her youthful face

The actress has always insisted she has never undergone surgery on her face and relies on non-invasive anti-ageing beauty treatments.

As she insists her youthful looks are down to a combination of good genes, a healthy lifestyle – she’s been a vegetarian for 34 years and regularly exercises – and her beauty treatments.

She told the Daily Mirror in 2014: "I’ve been having Collagen Wave facials by a wonderful lady called Nilam Patel. It’s done amazing things to my face."

Explaining her beauty treatments, she said: "I swear by a fortnightly collagen wave facial, where radio frequency and ultrasound waves heat up my skin to encourage it to produce new collagen.

"I’m a fan of various creams and potions, too, and lots of water (and wine!), but really I think it’s down to genetics. I’m up for anything, though nothing invasive."

Collagen wave facials usually cost around £250 a session and between 3-15 treatments are recommended, usually about a month apart.

As well as Amanda, Nicole Kidman, Kylie Minogue and Courteney Cox are all said to be fans of Collagen wave facials.

Meanwhile, hairdressers have said Amanda opting for short hairstyles and lighter shades of blonde can always make the TV judge appear younger.

She has also let her eyebrows grow out a bit longer after over-plucking them during her thirties, which can create a more youthful look.

Has Amanda had a boob job?

With a petite size 8 figure, Amanda knows she wouldn’t suit huge breasts.

After having two children, Amanda previously revealed she didn’t breastfeed, which would have significantly altered her chest.

In 2010, she talked about how her first pregnancy to daughter Lexi affected her figure: "I didn’t get any stretch marks, my boobs are the same shape and still up, but I didn’t breastfeed."

Amanda’s breasts have attracted plenty of headlines over the years, mainly due to her revealing dresses or going braless.

After a furore over her prominent nipples in one particular outfit in 2015, Amanda claimed she was going to insure her breasts for £1million each.

She said: "The reaction has been huge. I decided if it was good enough for Kylie Minogue’s bum or Mariah Carey’s legs, it is definitely required for my nipples."

Megawatt smile

Amanda has always had a nice smile, but improved it even more when she joined Britain’s Got Talent.

She had her teeth straightened using an Invisalign brace, which are worn for 22 hours a day, and cost between between £2,500 and £4,500.

Her slim figure

Amanda is uber fit and healthy and has followed a vegetarian diet since she was 13.

Speaking about her diet, she said: "You have to enjoy life. I eat everything. Drink everything. I had a friend once who didn’t make it to her 50s and her biggest regret was she spent her life on a diet. I don’t diet."

When it comes to exercise, she regularly hits the gym, does yoga and goes jogging.

She enthused: "I practise a form of yoga, which is more to do with breath control and strength than getting sweaty, and I run every morning."

Prior to Britain’s Got Talent, Amanda admits she undergoes strict grooming to look her best for the live shows.

She told the Mirror last year: "Simon Cowell has very strict rules about the way women should look. Plucked, waxed, made up and groomed to within an inch of their lives. I agree with him. It’s the Joan Collins method of growing old glamorously."
