Actor John Barrowman has admitted he may never adopt a child as he is having a tough time persuading his husband to commit to starting a family.
The 51-year-old has spoken of his hopes to adopt in interviews for ten years with partner Scott Gill.
But he says Scott is not keen and so it looks unlikely at this stage.
Sounding emotional, John says: “Well I still would like to adopt. But I can’t just go out and buy one at Tesco and bring it home, it has to be a partnership thing and I don’t think Scott is ready for it.
“He keeps saying to me, ‘If you wanna do it, just do it, however I can’t just do that, as he has to be on board. At the moment I’ve got a company that I run with my business partner and I’m still on Arrow(TV show) and I’m travelling all over the place and it would be unfair to have a child that I would never really see.”

John Barrowman would love a family of his own
Former Doctor Who and Torchwood actor John was the big surprise name for I’m A Celebrity when the 10 contestants were officially announced earlier this week.
“I’ve known for quite some time but I haven’t told anybody beyond my family and Scott. My friends don’t really know I’m going in. I’ve kept it really quiet and I didn’t want it leaking. Consequently no-one had any idea that I was the question mark.”
Now his name is out there though he is not staying quiet and says he is sure to be a big presence in the camp, saying he will stick up for others and not let bullies get their way.
“I am not a crier, unless I get hurt, but I am probably more of a fixer.

“However, if I see somebody bullying or being rude or speaking down to somebody and being an asshole to them I will stand up and stick up for them. If someone is being an arsehole or a dick I’ll call them on it.
“I might sit back and watch them for a little bit and let them get to the point where they’re digging a hole for themselves and then I’ll speak up. I can adapt and fit into groups, I think that’s going to be my plus in that aspect of it.”
Fans of John, who has appeared on stage in a number of shows including Anything Goes and Phantom of the Opera, are also hoping to hear him singing in camp, alongside the likes of Fleur East and James McVey.
But they may be disappointed unless ITV are prepared to get their chequebook out.

John has a plan for I’m A Celeb
Grinning John says: “I did discuss singing showtunes with them because I like to sing, and I may burst out into song but then they’ll have to get the f***ing rights for the songs. Darling, the songs I sing won’t be cheap ones. I might sing a few of my own to get some residual payments in the bag!”
Unsurprisingly given his flamboyant nature, the jungle shower also holds no fears for John.
“I’m looking forward to it, I have bought the most fabulous trunks that can be worn in the shower. They’re really colourful and bright and I think they’re in the league of my friend Myleene Klass for the shower sequence. I haven’t got any qualms about stripping off at all. I’m now 51 and my body has changed a little bit and I’m still proud of who I am and what I look like. I’m looking forward to losing my love handles but I think I still look good for my age.
“I have not had any plastic surgery, I have not had my teeth done or eye jobs. I have tried Botox once for an album cover and it made look like I had peaked eyebrows so from that point on it was a no no to doing that way. It made my eyebrows look like they were peaked up.”

John, who has turned down Celebrity Big Brother and I’m A Celebrity in the past, is not shy about admitting he would like to win the series.
His husband Scott and parents are heading Down Under to see him leave the jungle in a few weeks and he intends to be the last one standing.
He said: “I would be lying to you if I said that I didn’t want to win. However I don’t just want to be King of the jungle, I want to be King and Queen of the jungle and cross the gender lines.
“I make that joke but I am a very big supporter of LGBTQ rights around the world and I talk like that because I feel it’s better that we normalise everything rather make everybody feel different – I am a gay man, I identify as a gay man and I like other men and I have no problem saying that, I don’t think anybody should have a problem with saying what they like, who they like or how they like.”
