10. Cliche: Stick with it!

No really. Stick with it. You’ll be miserable for probably a year. I certainly was. I had only fifteen or twenty page views a day. For months! Only my friends were reading. So why did I keep writing articles no one was reading and doing podcasts no one was listening to?

I wanted to. It was fun for me. You have to enjoy the process or it just won’t work. Thousands of page views a day is fun and exciting, but I just like talking and thinking about movies. You have to be able to write about movies, or talk about movies, even if no one is listening.

And one last thing. Don’t mess with ads or anything for a long time. They’re annoying and just alienate your audience. You won’t make money off your blog for a long time.
