2. Man from Nowhere
The next two movies on this list are by far the most accessible and by far the best on the list. Both share exclusive positions on my favorite movies of all time list. They both seemingly came out of nowhere and I found them on my own. But they are, in my opinion, two of the best movies to come out of the “tens” decade.
Man from Nowhere starts like your typical revenge flick (it is not unlike Drive), but is just flat-out technically and emotionally superior to most of the movies that came before it. It follows a mysterious man who lives next to a girl who he comes to care for and becomes wrapped up in a criminal situation regarding the girl’s mother.
It does everything right and makes no mistakes. The story, the direction, the acting, the camera-movement, the music. Everything is perfect. The movie is a blood-filled tour-de-force and we’re finally given a character who truly doesn’t give a fuck.
