More shit about the Uncharted movie
Thank god that David O Russell left the Uncharted movie. I could picture what he had in mind in my head and it just didn’t fly. Neither does Mark Walhberg, but he’ll leave soon enough.
Moreover, Variey reported that, “Neil Burger is charting a course to write and direct Sony’s adaptation of Naughty Dog’s hit videogame “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.” Sounds good. I haven’t seen Burger’s newest movie, Limitless, but I’ll stay optimistic for now.
Moreover, Variety stated that:
Sony is very high on “Uncharted,” eyeing a film adaptation as the potential launch of its own “Indiana Jones”-like franchise, which borrows heavily from 1930 serials, after the first two games have turned into a standout hit for the company’s PlayStation division.
Uncharted 2 is considered one of the greatest games of the past ten or so years. Throw out all the fanboy shit and Sony should have a huge franchise. For those of you who don’t know (so none of you who would read this article in full) Uncharted is an adventure game based around finding treasure and fighting bad guys. (So it is super cool.)
It serves them well not to fuck up and not make the movie. Their number one goal should to just keep the movie fun. That’s it. Even if it is stupid and unfaithful to the games – keep the movie fun. If it is a serious movie, like I imagine David O’fussyRuss had in mind, then I think it would be a failure.
Regardless, we’ll just have to wait and see.
