You should too!: The Corporation
The Film: The Corporation

The Corporation is a very good movie that is way too long and oddly put together. Its direction and pace don’t do its subjects and content justice, which is a rare occurrence. When you have Noam Chomsky, Michal Moore, Ray Anderson, Howard Zinn, and other geniuses in your movie – you’d better put the movie together well. But alas, the movie is kind of a filmmaking plunder. It is, however, still a very informative movie about the way corporations operate.
Why to watch it: It is a pretty big tour-de-force
The film is kind of bittersweet because since its release, going on a decade ago, things have gotten worse. Much worse? Yes. Moore prophetically predicts people will not sit on their couch, but get out there and change things. Well, he was wrong. Regardless of where you come down, right or left, this movie is a powerful indictment of a system that needs a second look.
Pay attention to this: The interviews
Many of the people interviewed in this film are some of the greatest thinkers in the world. I would have preferred the entire movie was just Noam Chomsky talking shit about corporations, but that would be another film entirely…
I think of the biggest problems about things now are people just aren’t educated well enough on the intricaties of
Moreover, the length of the movie will try your patience, but really try to listen to the words of these great women and men. Even if you’re conservative, you can admit something was, and is, wrong.
