Superbowl trailers!

Aliens and Steven Spielberg.

( Don’t forget to comment or E-mail me)

Alien movies. Most of these movies don’t come out for another bazillion months, but no matter how stupid, short, or pointless a trailer is I always get excited for it. No matter what. It is a genetic defect in me or something.

Like when I saw the Wolverine Origins’ trailer. I was like, “That is going to be fucking awesome!”, even though I knew, deep down, it was going to suck. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool? No wonder were importing our super heroes from England.

Like why don’t I learn? Trailers mean nothing. They manipulate and warp the story to entice a wider audience into seeing the movie. That is pretty much it. Regardless, here are some of the alien-related trailers from yesterday. Super 8 isn’t def’ an alien movie. But, lol, I just might be prophetic on this one.

Super 8 Trailer

What can we gleam from that besides its going to be fucking cool, JJ is involved, Steven Speilberg is producing, and it is probably going to be a alien movie? I read on Wikipedia that the train in the trailer, supposedly, is from Area 51. Did I miss that in the trailer?

By the way, that reminds me, I noticed that three of the major trailers shown last night (Superbowl) were big budget movies about aliens and produced by Steven Spielberg. Does the world need this many alien movies?

There has been a boom of alien invasion/monster invasion movies. Who likes this stuff? Disclaimer: District 9 is one of the best sci-fi movies ever.

Here is the Transformers trailer from last night. Again, it looks fucking awesome and I dislike the Transformers series. How do they do it?

Transformers trailer

Maybe this will be it. The Transformers movie that convinces me of the series’ greatness. Maybe? If they just focus more on Optimus and the transformers and less on the fucking human beings, this could be a great movie.

That ain’t gonna’ happen, but a man can dream. For a really cool take on Transformers mythology (animals not machines) check out the Emmy-award winning Beast Wars. A little masterpiece from the nineties, which shows how Optimus should really be.

And finally:

Cowboys and Aliens

Well, that’s all for now. Maybe I’ll put up some of the other trailers and blab about them. Not that you care. Do you? Probably not. The movie I’m most excited for, out of the commercials yesterday, is Cowboys and Aliens. Nothing even comes close. Yeah, Super 8 looks pretty damn cool, but it could be a stinker. We don’t know.
