The Film: Troll 2

Amazingly, I’d never heard of this one. My brother was shocked I’d never seen the, now famous, clip below. “Oh my goooood”

Mad lols all around. But seriously, this movie is epic. It really is as bad as everyone says it is. It is rare indeed that few, if any lines, are not delivered poorly.

Why to watch it: It may be genius

Bad movies are tough to watch. Really bad movies are pretty hard to watch as well. This movie really is different. There is a sense of joy in the incompetence.

I mentioned to my brother that it would be more advantageous to screen his film in a film class than a classic like Citizen Kane or Psycho.  This movie has real problems that every filmmaker should watch out for, especially the line deliveries.

Two things – zoom lens and poorly delivered lines

This movie uses way too many zoom shots. Anyone who has ever watched a movie with me knows I fucking hate the zoom lens. I don’t mind it if it is used once or twice for a very specific purpose. But fuck, every shot man!

Moreover, every line is delivered poorly. How? How is that possible? Keep an eye on it.

Watch this right now when you get home from work or school or whatever it is you’re doing….you should be watching this instead. And if you don’t have Netflix streaming….buy it. It costs the same as a shot and a beer at your local bar!
